is this an adoption event?

doesn't this place serve food there? this has got to be breaking some health code violations.

What does this even mean? What in the world is a "pop up cat cafe"?

You can adopt any of the cats. Cat cafés are popular in some cities in the US and around the world. It's kind of a new thing for DC. The are currently working through the regs for a non-pop up cat café that might open in DC. Keep in mind that lots of restaurants in DC serve food to patio patrons with dogs right there.

Thanks for the Wikipedia link -- I should have thought to look there, except I doubt it would have ever occurred to me because I doubt I would have ever suspected that a "cat cafe" was an actual *thing*.

From the Wikipedia page:

"A cat café is a theme café whose attraction is cats that can be watched and played with. Patrons pay a cover fee, generally hourly, and thus cat cafés can be seen as a form of supervised indoor pet rental."

We live in interesting times.

Seems like a health code violation. I'm severely allergic to casts, like many others. The local board of health should get involved.

doesn't RnR have only one patio? the roof patio correct? unless the cats are parachuting in, that means cats are going inside the building to get to the roof.

According to this WCP article the cats will be in cages, so no worries about them strutting around on the bar.

I'm allergic to cars both when the are in cages and out of cages. This is not a good even

Oh, get over it. It's a cat cafe. Don't show up if you're allergic. I'm sure there will be a sign. Let these poor kitties have a chance to find a home. You can go any other day and the cats (having been in carriers) and then only being loose on the roof deck (with open air), shouldn't affect you at all.

Well, I hope they are prepared to call the ambulance when I go into anaphylactic shock because I've come into contact with a cat in their restaurant.

Please go to this event. I would love to see this happen to you.

Seriously anonymous? It's a good thing you're allergic to cats and not rats because otherwise you'd go into shock upon entering just about any dc restaurant or bar.
