Press release:

Metro Transit Police continue to investigate last night's shooting outside an X2 Metrobus and have released still images of a female "person of interest" who was traveling with the suspected shooter.

The shooting happened last night (Monday, January 19) at approximately 10:20 p.m. in the 100 block of H Street NW. The eastbound X2 bus was stopped at a bus stop when a male passenger exited through the rear door, turned and fired at least one round into the bus. Two victims, ages 21 and 47, sustained non-life-threatening injuries -- one to the hand and the other to the thigh -- and were transported to a local hospital.

Approximately 40 passengers were on the bus at the time of the incident, which was captured by the vehicle's onboard and exterior cameras.

Within 90 minutes of the incident, Transit Police detectives released still images of a male person of interest in connection with the shooting.

The investigation has revealed that the male was accompanied by a female who walked off the scene after the incident. Transit Police detectives are seeking the public's assistance to identify both subjects.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts or identity of the persons of interest is asked to call Metro Transit Police at (202) 962-2121 or text "MyMTPD" (696873).

I hate these people with every fiber in my bone. Who the hell fires into a packed bus?!!?!? Hunt this fool down, tie an anvil to his ankle, and drop him into the Anacostia River.

Firing into a bus? Hope they charge him with terrorism.

just as astounding that someone could do an act of terrorism like this is that those two were able to walk away from the bus without getting caught.

they probably walked into Walmart and bought some candy and got back on the X2 on the way home.

great job DC police!
