ANC 5D Meeting Tonight 7-8:30pm [UPDATED]

DSC_0072
The MOM's is an anchor tenant at the Hecht Warehouse development on New York Ave.
Two of three presentations on this month's agenda relate to the development.

Apologies for the late notice on the agenda, but it was not publicly distributed via email until early this morning. Although someone did share a photo with me of a rather mangled agenda posted to a resident's door. Here's stuff you need to review last month's meeting. If you missed last month's meeting there's a good change you also missed the "ANC 5D Treasurer's Report - March 10, 2015." This is a document produced by the Treasurer, but not approved by the full ANC. It's not been adopted as an official document, and that's pretty much not going to happen for various reasons. But it is important because it lays out the Treasurer's concerns with ANC 5D financials and the manner in which they have been conducted. It also seems likely that ANC 5D will vote tonight to participate in the ANC Security Fund. This will allow them to spend money from their account. You can find screen shots of it at the bottom of this post.

One other note, I think many of us were expecting to see Tony Puesan of HR-57 on tonight's agenda (again), but he's noticeably absent. I have reached out to him to ask why (maybe it's a scheduling thing).

Puesan reports that he will be at the meeting and prepared to discuss the pop-up. As far as he knows he is on the agenda.

Interesting that in the agenda the Treasurer is not listed as lead for the Treasurer's Report but Commissioner Henderson is listed. Is that so she can bury questions on the laptop and other purchases highlighted in the March report?

8:58,
I hadn't even noticed that. I do know that Comm. Shropshire couldn't make the last meeting. Hmm...

Thanks very much to Com. Shropshire for your thorough and transparent work on the ANC finances. I hope you are able to resolve the questionable expenditures and move forward. Your hard work is greatly appreciated!

what's this Arcadia Organic Market about

So this loon is asking the volunteer ANC to pay more than a grand for her new laptop? That's nuts and no way anyone should allow that to stand.

11:39,
I believe this is regarding an Arcadia Mobile Market, which is basically a bus that distributes fresh locally sourced produce to underserved communities.

12:46,
I suspect it's supposed to be a shared laptop, but I'd really like to see it, know where it lives, see the record of a vote approving the purchase, and understand why the ANC spent so much on a new laptop.

11:39,
I neglected to mention that this is regarding a location at the Family Health and Birth Center (i.e., Developing Families) 801 17th Street. They will be there Thursdays from 4-6pm.

They actually showed up at the last ANC 5D meeting but Comm Henderson wanted them to come to her SMD meeting first.

Just a comment about the mobile market - it's a great resource. They have local organic dairy, meat, veggies, and fruits.

IRFIC - I was at the mtg last night but did not know about the treasurer/financial issues. This is serious and I am concerned that 5D Commissioners will all sit by meekly and allow KH to run the show. That must stop. Also SMD Comm. must have mtgs in their communities. Enough of the grand-standing, meet with your community, walk your streets, talks to us,and let's not give a pass to every big developer that comes in and says "this is what I want". Ask the hard questions.

this is 1850 worth of stuff that the ANC is asking for reimursement?
