New Playground Now Open at Trinidad Rec

The new playground at the Trinidad Recreation Center (1310 Childress Street) opened to the public today.

Where are the trees? It looks like there is no shade for the kids. Who plans these things?

The neighborhood is not going to take care of this. People will litter, there will be empties, cig butts, some needles, and maybe a guy sleeping before long. We can't have nice things here.

@Anon 10:40, there is shade at the toddler part of the playground.
@Anon 1:42, I wish that weren't the case but every time I've walked by the playground since it opened there is trash everywhere. Many kids (and some of the adults, apparently) are just inconsiderate / poorly raised. No sense of common space. I'd hate to see what some of the houses/apartments look like inside.
