Weekend East City Event Round Up: Activism through Art Edition

Saturday, May 30 

Anacostia Art Center – 11am to 2pm
This series of workshops hosted by artist and activist Monica Jahan Bose asks participants to consider and address climate change. During the workshop visitors are encouraged to share their personal stories on saris. For more details, click here.

Project Create – 11am to 4pm
Join Project Create for the Annual Student Showcase and Street Art Festival. The festival will include multimedia work from local students. This family event is a fun and creative way to kick off the summer. For more information, click here.

Brentwood Arts Exchange – 5pm to 8pm
At War with Ourselves is a year-long series of programs exploring the Civil War and its effect on race in America. The work featured in this exhibition is a visual response to a poem by Nikky Finney. For more information, click here.
