National Night Out Events 8/4

A previous event held at the Starburst Intersection

National Night Out is here again Tuesday, August 4th. The citywide kick off is in Takoma (300 Van Buren Street NW at 5pm), but there are local events for the 1st and 5th District. Info below:



1D: Folger Park 3rd and D Streets, SE from 5:30-8:30pm

5D: The Starburst Intersection (Maryland Ave, Benning Road, Bladensburg Road, H Street, Florida Ave) from 6-9pm.

National Night Out is a chance for community members to connect with each other and with MPD officers to strengthen ties and have fun.

National Night Out is designed to:

• Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness;
• Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs;
• Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and
• Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
