MPD made a quick arrest early this morning after a suspect allegedly approached someone, began talking, and then suddenly assaulted that person with the knife. An email providing more details, the original crime alert, and a map of 5th District PSAs appear below. This occurred in the Rosedale neighborhood in PSA 507 (5th District)

On Saturday, September 5, 2015, members of the 5th District responded to a call for service in the 1600 block of Rosedale St NE.The crime alert:
An on scene investigation revealed that the complainant was walking when the suspect approached and started talking. Without being provoked, the suspect produced a knife and assaulted the complainant. The complainant sustain minor injuries. The suspect was arrested with no incident. Good police work and coordination between patrol officers and detectives led to the arrest of this armed suspect.
