An MPD representative sent out the following just now about a failed robbery attempt at the Rite Aid (801 H Street). No one was injured, and a suspect is in custody.

On Tuesday, October 13, 2015, at approximately 0805 hours, a male suspect entered the Rite Aid store located at 801 H Street, Northeast, wearing a hooded sweatshirt with his hood up over his head.  The suspect, with his hand underneath his shirt, approached the checkout counter and demanded money.  The clerk ran off and the suspect fled the store.

Responding units from the First District began canvassing the area for the suspect and located a suspect matching the lookout provided by the store clerk in the 1100 block of H Street, Northeast.   The suspect was stopped without incident.  The suspect was positively identified by the store clerk and placed under arrest.  There were no injuries reported.   Thanks.
Lieutenant Brian A. Murphy
First District
