2016 Visitor Parking Pass Applications Now Available

IMG_5716

DDOT just opened the applications for 2016 Visitor Parking Passes (VPP). These passes are free and will allow your visitors to park for more than two hours on Residential Permit Parking (RPP) zoned blocks. The passes are only valid during RPP enforcement hours, and within the same RPP zone and ANC boundary as the residence to for which they are issued. Visitors don't need a pass on holidays, or other times parking restrictions are not in effect.

The Visitor Parking Pass (VPP) Program is designed to allow District of Columbia residents' guests to park for more than two hours on Residential Permit Parking (RPP) zoned blocks. A VPP is only valid during the hours of RPP enforcement and in the same RPP zone and ANC boundary as the residence. The passes are not necessary on holidays or other times when parking restrictions are not subject to enforcement.

To get one you cannot live on a block that is zoned commercial. You can only get one VPP, but you can request additional temporary visitor parking from MPD. You can also get a Visitor Parking Pass by calling (202) 671-2700.

most parking enforcement signs only mention enforcement betweeen 7am-8pm. What are the rules from 8:01pm-6:59am? Please enlighten me

Except parking enforcement will ticket any repeat visitor parked during non-enforcement hours even if they have a visitor's permit....

If you are staying over night in DC for over 30 days, then you should get DC tags, or park your car on private property.

Only they're ticketing guests who don't stay overnight, because they don't live in DC, or my mom when she visits for a few days.
