Donate Now to Help Someone Get a Fresh Start, Then Socialize at Maketto 2/20

Maketto (1351 H Street), Made in the District (MITD), and Broccoli City are teaming up for a Fresh Start online fundraiser followed by a social this Saturday. The effort raises money to purchase supplies for Fresh Start boxes to be distributed by four non-profits that provide shelter or outreach to homeless individuals. The final Fresh Start boxes will include toiletries like soap, shampoo, and other items someone staying at a shelter would need. You can donate online now through YouCaring, bring proof of donation to Saturday's reception (5-7pm) at Maketto and get a voucher for a free drink. 100% of funds raised go to buying supplies for these boxes.

The four groups that will receive the Fresh Start boxes are:
HIPS - A harm reduction group focused on sex workers.
Courtney's House - They work with victims of sex trafficking.
Covenant House - Provides help to homeless youth.
Neighbors Consejo - Targeted towards the Latino population, Neighbors Consejo provides assistance to those suffering homelessness, mental health problems, and addition.
