Things are moving along at the long promised Mythology & Lore, a Nouveau American restaurant with global influences opening at 816 H Street. Not only do they have their sign, but they recently installed these amazing cloud lights. These are no ordinary lights. They are artist Richard Clarkson's interactive Cloud speaker lights. Trust me, you want to click on those links. I also embedded a video of the clouds in action at the bottom of this post. Todd Luongo, a partner in Mythology & Lore, told me he's pretty sure they'll be the first restaurant in the District to use the clouds. You can follow the restaurant and lounge's progress on Facebook.

The Trinidad Neighborhood Association is holding a clean-up this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Meet at Joe Cole Rec (1299 Neal Street). The group will provide trash bags, but you should bring gloves if you have them. Let the organizers know you are coming with SignUpGenius.

Zagat's put Pow Pow's Spring Ming-A-Ling (watermelon, feta, greens, pickled grapes, basil, and a broken fortune cookie) on a list of 11 Must-Try Summer Eats & Drinks in DC. There's a ton of other great stuff on the menu, including giant eggrolls.

Hey owners of Mythology&Lore....I know what you are not good at...naming your restaurant. Although by the sign on the building you may have already shortened it to Mythology, which is not better for a steakhouse. How long before everyone calls your steaks mystery meat?
Is this place supposed to be greek?

Look..you only have a couple of cool opportunities to name shit: a dog, a kid and a restaurant. You blew the restaurant.

Seriously it's like they are trying to go out of business with the name and branding...

Maybe the owners hate money.

It's mythology steakhouse, and lore lounge. H &pizza also had a horrible name. We all know how that turned out. Turned out well

7:03,
I actually got corrected on that. They did toy with the steakhouse idea briefly a couple of years ago, but ended up going with a different concept.

The 20 year old me who used to eat mushrooms and walk through the woods and stare at trees would have loved those lights.

The 40 year old me wishes he was 20.
