Local News Brief: Phoenix Bikes Rises at Impala, Boxing Club Coffee at Sally's, & Union Market Movies

Impala (1358 H Street) once again teams up with Phoenix Bikes for a refurbished bike sale in the courtyard from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. tomorrow. Phoenix teaches teens to build and repair bikes and seeks to provide affordable bicycles to the larger community.


On Sunday (10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.) Sally's Middle Name (1320 H Street) plays host to a Boxing Club Coffee pop up dubbed Uppers + Downers featuring locally roasted coffee (both iced and hot), bloody mary flights (made with red, yellow, and green tomatoes), and coffee cocktails. Boxing Club Coffee (their website will launch on Sunday) is roasted is the District's Eckington neighborhood. This is their first public event. The full menu is not posted yet, but it will eventually appear on Sally's website.

Union Market Drive-In returns with an outdoor movie screening the first Friday night of each month through October. Tickets are $10 per car. It's free for those who walk up and sit in the picnic area. Union Market is located at 1309 5th Street.
