A Slight Update on the Argonaut

The Argonaut in 2008

I posted yesterday morning that the Argonaut (1433 H Street) was closed starting on Monday, and has padlocks and No Trespassing signs up on its doors. Since that time there's been rampant speculation about the cause. Some thought it might be a tax issue, but that would have involved a pretty obvious placard, as would any issues with the Department of Health. It appears that the closure stems instead from an internal dispute among the owners (like many H Street establishments, the Argonaut has multiple owners).

Local News Brief: What's Up at the Argo?, TNA Meeting Tonight, & Taylor Gourmet Renovates

Twitter lit up last night with news that popular local restaurant the Argonaut (1433 H Street) was padlocked and had a no trespassing sign posted. Another neighbor chimed in that she had just eaten at the Argo on Sunday, and everything seemed normal, except that the taps weren't working. A notice was posted to Twitter yesterday afternoon by the group that runs a poker night at the Argonaut announcing that establishment would not be open that evening. I've reached out to a few representatives from the restaurant, and will update with news as I am able. Let's hope they plan to reopen soon.

Update posted here.

Diners will drinks and learn about Old Ox flagships such as Golden Ox, Alpha Ox and Black Ox, as well as the newly released Hoppy Place IPA.
