An unknown person (or persons) spray painted graffiti on clusters of cars parked at multiple locations in the area, including blocks near 7th and L Street, and 5th and G Streets Sunday. Ward 6 Councilmember Charles Allen estimated that about fifty cars were vandalized. He tweeted that MPD is actively investigating the matter, and urged anyone with a private video camera that may have caught the criminals in the act to please turn the footage over to police.

The Soggy Po' Boys kick off their summer tour this Friday at Gallery O on H (1354 H Street). The band plays New Orleans style jazz in the Gallery's courtyard from from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. No cover.

The next ANC 5D meeting will take place Tuesday, August 9th at 7 p.m. at MPD's 5th District (1805 Bladensburg Road). I don't believe they've released an agenda yet.

It looks like the same vandals probably also tagged the now vacant burger king on Florida Ave. It had fresh tags the morning after the incident in the same colors. Whomever did this went on quite the spray painting rampage.
