Art All Night to Include Musical Streetcars

Art All Night is Saturday, and there's all kinds of stuff happening at seven different locations along the H Street Corridor. Two of those locations will actually be moving streetcars. Check the schedule to find out who is performing when, but you'll find spoken word, hip hop, jazz, and more to enjoy as you cruise down the strip in style.

Where else might one take in a bit of cultural enrichment that evening? I'm so glad you asked! Aside from streetcar one and streetcar two, you can also find fun and interesting events at Anthology (625 H St.), the Atlas Performing Arts Center (1333 H St.), Gallery O on H (1354 H St.), Capital Fringe (1358 Florida Ave.), and the Starburst Plaza (H Street, Bladensburg Road, and Benning Road). Plus, Trinidad's Art in the Alley (in the alley behind the north side of the 1200 and 1300 blocks of Florida Ave.) is happening from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The Art All Night fun on H Street kicks off at 7 p.m. and runs until 3 a.m., but check the website for details as many locations will call it a night earlier.

In addition to music, Art All Night will feature plenty of performances of other sorts, as well as visual arts. Catch a bit of circus style fun on Anthology's rooftop, where you'll find a stilt walker, a juggler, a sword swallower, a magician, a contortionist/acrobat, and even fire dancers. Head out to the courtyard and learn a little Bollywood, swing, or salsa dancing. The Atlas will feature dance performances, live painting, and and an art installation related to Black Lives Matter. Stop by Capital Fringe for Throwback Theater to enjoy music and videos from the 2000s with drinks and snacks. Throwback Theater is free if you reserve a spot ahead of time, or $5 at the door. Like some other Art All Night events it's recommended for adults (so check the Art All Night website, as well as individual event pages). Pretty much everything is free, and who can resist an outdoor concert at the Startburst Plaza? Some details on events are still TBA, so keep checking for details.

It's called Art All Night. What parts of it are going after 3am?

After 3am is the part where you are doing chalk art on the sidewalk in front of the Pug.

Yeah it is kind of dumb to have it advertised as all night and with fine print listed as ending at 3.
