E Street Adventures, a group that has organized a Halloween celebration for local kids the past few years, is teaming up with the Rosedale Rec, Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner Sondra Gilbert (ANC 6A07), MPD, and others for a party called Halloween at Rosedale. Organizers hope to serve as many as 500 kids at this year's event, which will take place from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29 at the Rosedale Rec (1701 Gales St.). Halloween at Rosedale is a not for profit event that is completely free to those who attend. It will include carnival-style games with prizes, a costume contest, goodie bags, snacks, arts and crafts, a performance by local entertainment company Spinnabel Lee Entertainment, and more. You can view pictures and videos of past events on E Street Adventures' website.

The organizers are currently seeing volunteers (including cooks) to help with the party, and preparation. They are also looking for donations of food, candy, and small prizes. They have wish lists for Oriental Trading Company and Amazon. They are also asking for Costco or Sam's Club gift cards so they can buy hotdogs, buns, condiments, and packaged snacks. You can also donate online through PayPal. Contact goldman.rena[at]gmail.com or spgilbert01[at]comcast.net to volunteer individually, or as a group. The organizers are also looking for local businesses to sponsor t-shirts for the event. Sponsoring businesses will appear on the t-shirts along with the event logo you see below.
