Curbside Cookoff is this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at NoMa Junction @ Storey Park (1005 First St. NE). It promises family friendly fun with live music, local artisans, games, drinks, and a chance for area food trucks to show off their wares. Entry Tickets  (available online, or at the event) are free, or you can buy a general admission pass for $39 for one person (four food tasting tickets and one drink ticket), or $55 for two people (eight food tasting tickets and two drink tickets). This year's non-profit partner is No Kid Hungry.

Members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 35 year old Montez Warren of SE yesterday for the Aug. 21 fatal shooting of 24 year old Dante Miller of NE in the 1200 block of 18th Place. Warren has been charged with First Degree Murder While armed.

Looking for a good place to watch the Presidential Debate on Wednesday? The Big Board (421 H St.) will show it upstairs starting at 9 p.m. Bring friends to take advantage of the $15 Bud or Bud Light buckets, or the $10 scotch. If the debate gets to be too much you can always head downstairs where they'll be watching baseball instead.

Republic Kolache will pop up at Big Chief (2002 Fenwick St.) this weekend. They'll start serving at 5 p.m. Friday, and 4 p.m. Saturday.

Montez Warren was acquitted on another homicide a few years back.
His brother took the hit on that.
