Annual Movember Charity Pig Roast at Little Miss Whiskey's

The Movember fundraising gang is back, and they are once again holding a charity pig roast. This year's event takes place at Little Miss Whiskey's (1104 H St.) from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 19,  and tickets are $60. That gets you all you can eat & drink, with a portion of the proceeds going to the Movember Foundation, which focuses on men's health (specifically on prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health/suicide prevention).

DC Brau will provide the beer, and chef Ryan Gordon of the Queen Vic (1206 H St.) will roast a whole pig, and prepare the side dishes. They'll also hold a cash raffle with hundreds of dollars in prizes. Last year this event drew around 65 people and raised over $1500 for the cause. This year the organizers are going big. They hope to sell out at 100 people, and raise about $3500.

This sounds pretty cool, for the charity not the pig. But many men suffer all three and it's important that groups are there to help. Often men's concerns are hidden and as a result men die. Let's break the cycle
