A man who believed he was being pursued by police reportedly hit a lot of cars early this morning in the 1700 block of H Street. This report from NBC 4 says it was over a dozen cars. According to the article, police say they were not actually chasing the man, but that he seems to have panicked after seeing police cars in the area. The driver hit a light pole and was taken into custody. One of the vehicles the man struck was a PG Country police car that happened to be in the area.

Reporter Alan Henney was tweeting about it early this morning, and it sounds insane. Here's one of his tweets.
An update Henney tweeted later about the event suggests police may have had the driver "under surveillance," even if they were not actually chasing him at the time. Henney also tweeted a link to an audio file in which you can hear EMS being incorrectly dispatched to the 1700 block of H Street NW.
