The Pug (1234 H St.) is teaming up with VéloCity Bicycle Cooperative to raise money for an empowered and inclusive cycling community. They'll hold a fundraiser Thursday, March 9 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Buy your $20 ticket at the door and get you all you care to drink from their keg. All ticket sales beyond the cost of the keg will go directly to the Cooperative. You can RSVP for the event on Facebook.

VéloCity provides a non-profit, volunteer-run, educational do-it-yourself workshop offering training, rides, and events to empower all levels of cyclists in building, maintaining, and embracing the fun of bicycles.

The latest version of the plans for the Maryland Avenue Pedestrian Safety Project are now posted on Advisory Neighborhood Commission 6A's website, so go check them out and see the most recent changes.

Laura Hayes over at the Washington City Paper reports that Sloppy Mama's Barbecue will open a stall at Union Market (1309 Fifth St.) in the coming weeks. It sounds like they'll open for lunch and dinner, but Hayes adds that "there's a chance they could open earlier for breakfast in the future."

One BBQ for another. Wonder if we are getting an upgrade or a downgrade.
