NoMa Bicycle Network Study Public Workshop 5/4

Bright Bike3

The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will host the first of two public workshops for the NoMa Bicycle Network Study this Thursday, May 4 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. (1200 First Street NE, main lobby). Let DDOT know what you think of the existing conditions for cycling within the study area.

Project Study Area Boundaries

  • Sixth Street NW to Sixth Street NE on the west and east sides
  • N Street NW to K Street NW to the north and south
Priority corridors within the study area for consideration include K, L, and M Streets; Fourth and Sixth Streets NW/NE; and New Jersey Avenue.

DDOT will hold the second workshop towards the end of this summer. The goals of the two workshops (and the study) are basically:
  • to examine the recommendations for the NoMA area in moveDC
  • to create a new refined and feasible bicycle facility plan for NoMA
  • to provide schematic options for a separated bicycle network facilitating direct, low-stress travel between NoMA and the eastern part of downtown DC
  • to identify logical connections between current and future planned bicycle projects, both inside and outside the study area

What happens to the stray cats that the city picks up? Does the city run a cat sanctuary?
