The Historic Preservation Review Board has designated Emerald Street NE (located between 13th and 14th and E and F Streets) as a historic district. The street will go into the D.C. Inventory of
Historic Sites at the local level of significance. The Board also recommended that the nomination be sent on to the National Register of Historic Places.

The application came from Advisory Neighborhood Commission 6A, and you can also read the testimony given on behalf of the Capitol Hill Restoration Society, as well as the Historic Preservation Office staff report. That last report is short, and great if you just want a broad overview.

The street is a jewel. Hopefully the designation will will protect it from popups. Both Duncan Place and Elliot Street have pending popup applications pending.
