Local Briefing: X2 Nights, Old City Swim School, & a Free Deja Belle Concert at the Arboretum

IMG_2512

Greater Greater Washington has a piece on how WMATA has added extra late night buses to the X2 line, making it even easier to get around in the wee hours.

Did you know that Old City CrossFit (1007 H Street NE) has a swimming program? Old City Swim School (800 Florida Avenue NE) offers classes for beginners of different ages, be they toddlers, children, teens, or adults. Interested in strengthening your swimming abilities, or training to swim competitively? They do that too (for adults or younger swimmers).

Friends of the National Arboretum (FONA) will host neo-soul performer Deja Belle tomorrow night as part of their Summer Evenings concert series. The outdoor concerts are free, but you must reserve your spot to attend. The performances are from 7 pm to 8:30 pm, and doors open at 6 pm. No dogs or alcohol are permitted. Enter through the R Street gate (2400 R Street NE). Upcoming performances include Rocknoceros (music for children) July 20, and Unified Jazz Ensemble (acoustic jazz) July 27.
