MPD Releases Video of Staffing Fighting Suspect During 11/7 Robbery of Tony's Breakfast

MPD has released video of a suspect in a robbery at Tony's Breakfast (1387 H Street NE) at 6:07am on Tuesday, November 7th. Police previously circulated two stills from the video, but the video itself is quite a doozy. If the suspect hoped to catch the staff off guard, he miscalculated.  At 17 seconds into the video you can see the man spring into action as he attempts to grab the entire register drawer.
It doesn't work out so well for him as multiple employees spring into action pulling back on the drawer and hitting him about the head with their hands and a rolled up newspaper. After 16 seconds of unsuccessfully trying to wrench the drawer from the grasp of the staff, the man grabs some money and runs out.

Anyone with information about this case should call police at 202-727-9099, or text x50411. Crime Solvers of Washington, DC currently offers a reward of up to $1,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the person or persons responsible for a crime committed in the District of Columbia.
