Barricade Situation in Florida Avenue Market Ends Peacefully

This 2007 photo shows buildings in the 1300 block of 4th Street NE

There was apparently a barricade situation today at the Motel 6 in the Florida Avenue Market area.  The @DCPoliceTraffic twitter account tweeted about the closure of three streets in the northwestern corner of the market district at 10:48am.

Those streets had re-opened by 12:13pm.  WJLA reported that police received a phone call about a man with a gun holed up in one of the rooms. When police finally entered the room they found a man, but no gun. Fox5 also has video of police presence at the scene.
