Miner Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization's Third Annual Community Yard Sale is coming up, and the organizers are currently accepting gently used donations. Items can be dropped off at the school from 8am–6pm Monday–Friday (through April 27th). Just let the security guard at the entry desk know you're there to drop off donations. From there you can deposit your items in the area in the foyer marked “Yard Sale Donations.”

Due to space constraints they are unable to accept donations of furniture and other large items until the week of April 16th. If you would like a donation receipt for tax purposes, you can email them at minerpto[at]gmail.com. They are unable to accept cribs or car seats as donations.

Interested in helping out with the sale? You can sign-up online to volunteer.

The sale will take place at Miner, which is located at 601 15TH Street NE, on Saturday, April 28th from 9am–12pm. Shoppers can expect to find plenty of clothing, furniture, bikes, strollers, games, toys, kids' clothes, and household items. They will accept payments via cash or credit card. They have a price list guide posted on their website, and the prices are very reasonable. So this is your chance to score a bargain for a great cause. Of course, you are welcome to "round up" when you pay and the extra will go to support the PTO.

As an added bonus, on the day of the sale the organizers will also except e-waste and hazardous waste items for proper disposal at the Fort Totten Transfer Station. Please note that they can only accept a limited total amount, so it's probably wise to arrive early if you plan to bring items that fit this category. Use these DPW guides on e-waste and hazardous waste to figure out what is, acceptable and what they can't take.
