Screen Shot 2018-05-01 at 6.53.45 AM

The Washington Post has some details about last night's double shooting that injured a man and a small child. According to the Washington Post the little boy is four years old, but this WUSA9 story [video will autoplay with sound] says he's three. The shooting happened a little after 6pm near the intersection of 18th Street and M Street NE (other locations in the immediate area are mentioned in various reports, including M Street & 18th Place NE and Bladensburg Road and Mt. Olivet Road NE). The man was conscious and breathing when transported to a local hospital. Another adult (a bystander) had already taken the child to a trauma center for treatment, per an NBC4 report [link autoplays video with sound] a tweet from reporter Alan Henney. That same tweet indicates the adult victim was 27 years old and shot in the thigh and buttock. The NBC4 story says the boy was shot in the abdomen, and talks about an individual who was questioned following the shooting. That person was in an SUV (with a flat tire) outside Eddie's Carryout (1251 Bladensburg Rd. NE). The report says a gun was found in that SUV. The original alert (below) does not contain many details, but does indicate police were looking for four men.
