The Escape Lounge (1322-B H Street NE) is leaving the H Street Corridor. The Lounge will close its doors on H Street June 30th, after nearly three years at this locaation. The Escape Lounge won first place for best escape room in the 2017 and 2018 Washington City Paper Reader's Choice Awards. Escape Lounge co-founder Ayanna Smith wrote of the closing:

"I want to thank everyone in the community who has stopped by to say hello and those who have supported us over the past few years. This has been an amazing journey that has opened so many doors for us!

We’re excited about the upcoming launch of our escape game app, Ridlz, and other fun projects on the horizon.

Also, there is still time for you to make a reservation to Escape the Oval Office or Escape the Classroom."

Smith also expressed an interest in donating furniture to a DC-based 501(c)(3). Interested non-profits can contact Smith at asmith[at]escapetheroom.today.

Inked, did you see the stories on the hit and run death in the 1100 block of H Friday night? Foreign affairs reporter for USA Today riding a motorcycle, was hit by someone driving under the influence who left the scene and was later apprehended.

That intersection is very dangerous. I was almost run over by some guy in a big SUV making a left turn on H street. I had the walk signal. The guy didn't even stop before making a turn. He had to swerve and slam the brakes to avoid hitting me. Some other pedestrians were stunned. Also, noticed that many DC drivers need driving rules lessons. I was riding my bicycle on 11th St and had a clear green light at the intersection of Maryland Ave. Another SUV wanted to make a left turn on Maryland, clearly since I was going straight I have the right of way. She had her left turn signal on and kept turning without yielding to me. When I passed her she started cursing saying how I was supposed to let her go since she had her left turn signal on. How do they even pass the driving test?
