Advisory Neighborhood Commission 5D will hold their monthly meeting tonight in the community room at 371 Morse St. NE. The meeting starts at 7pm. I haven't seen an agenda yet, but I was contacted by a representative for one of the presenters. You can read about them below.

Crown Castle is the nation’s largest provider of shared wireless infrastructure and we are committed to building a safer, better-connected community.

As you may be aware, the D.C. Office of the Chief Technology Officer has developed an efficient and streamlined processes for providers to install “small cell” solutions on existing right-of-way infrastructure like street signs, telephone poles, or streetlights in the District. These small cells will improve the quality of wireless service throughout the District by expanding coverage and increasing network capacity.
D.C. has stated that it’s a “strong advocate of broadband infrastructure deployment” and that “coverage and connectivity are drivers for the economic growth of the District, the innovation of businesses, and the education of its residents.”

The District recently released the master license agreement that Crown Castle will seek to sign in order to enhance wireless connectivity, helping Washington, D.C. stay competitive today—and prepare for the opportunities of tomorrow. The agreement calls for us to provide notice to Advisory Neighborhood Commissions of our plans and certify that we indeed did provide such notice.

They also sent along a link to a recent Washington Post column about the need for for enhanced connectivity in the District.
