There was a mid-day (11:06am) shooting yesterday in Carver-Langston area. The original alert gives a location of the 2400 block of I Street NE, which seems a little off (but you can see that I Street does curve around oddly where it meets 22nd Street NE). I've placed the pin at 21st & I Street NE. An MPD representative explained on a local email list that "5th District members were near the 2000 block of Maryland Avenue, NE, when they heard sounds of gunshots and immediately began canvassing. A short time later, a victim was located in the 2100 block of I Street, NE suffering from a gunshot wound." That victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
