Shooting Yesterday Followed by a Stabbing Last Night

A man was fatally shot about 1:21pm yesterday in the 1300 block of D Street NE yesterday. Officers responded for the sound of gunshots and found 59-year-old Ezequiel Fernando Jimenez Pinto of NE suffering from multiple gunshots. He was transported to a local hospital, but succumbed to his injuries. In a follow-up message (both sent to a local email list) police said that "the shots fired in this incident were isolated to one vehicle and no other vehicles or areas seemed to be targeted." Several hours later, about 10:02pm, a victim was stabbed in the 1200 block of Simms Place NE in Trinidad. The original alert contained a lookout for "(3) B/M's, last seeing fleeing on foot south in the alley towards Raum Street NE."
