Talk is cheap. I'm glad "The Woolworth"- or whatever their name is now- has sort of broken ground, but I'm wondering if developers are waiting to see if a street car is actually going to traveling down H Street.Tom A.https://www.blogger.com/profile/10417553647538474302noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8835710.post-70590151283318161462013-10-05T08:33:09.109-04:002013-10-05T08:33:09.109-04:00Thanks for sharing the news, Alan. Until than, we have to wait. That is also the site where the rumors of a Whole Foods would be at. I personally dought it. Same with a hotel there.
What is also news is that Insight is the first to purchase the H St Storage site in over 30yrs. -I think-
The 600 Block of H Street is the only block that will be a jump in building height. All other blocks are low scale due to the various types of existing buildings it has.Derekhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10813475323393917262noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8835710.post-56974654446674025532013-10-04T15:07:50.864-04:002013-10-04T15:07:50.864-04:00HUGE News on development in the 600 block of H Str...HUGE News on development in the 600 block of H Street at this site: http://www.insightpropertygroupllc.com/portfolio/apollo-phase-i-h-street-murrys/ $120 million development (321 residential units, 22,879 square feet of retail) that is slated to replace Murry's. There is another $50 million project (Apollo II) adjacent to Apollo I that will take up the remainder of the north side of the 600 block of H (with 131 residential units and 20,000 square feet of retail). That's 451 new residential units and 43,000 square feet of new retail in one block, folks.

That's one small step for H Street, one giant leap for the whole neighborhood...

shout out to the anonymous PoPville commenter who broke the story (full Pop coverage here: http://www.popville.com/2013/10/from-apolo-theatre-to-murrys-grocery-store-to-120000000-apolo-mixed-use-development/#comments)

Alan Pagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07349389379428110815noreply@blogger.com
