Though I would also like to remind them that this is a more artsy neighborhood and neighbors appreciate a place that is welcoming and more genuine otherwise it will be the same than going to a starbucks. SOVA was an institution and we all love to go there to read, chat and and enjoy coffee/wine.

limaclaudiachttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12438492207374438487noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8835710.post-52532709700904593292013-03-14T11:39:10.615-04:002013-03-14T11:39:10.615-04:00beggars can't be choosersbeggars can't be choosersAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8835710.post-11240705128114962452013-03-11T10:47:28.337-04:002013-03-11T10:47:28.337-04:00So no more Intelligentsia? It was about the same quality as SOVA, maybe slightly worse, though I'm disappointed to hear they'll no longer be a dependable source for Intelligentsia. Didn't have any food, but the pastry options look pretty similar.

What they've done with the space, though, is an absolute tragedy. SOVA was lived-in and unique and colorful and comfortable. H Street Coffee House looks like it might as well be in Foggy Bottom. SOVA was always more about the space than the coffee for me, so this is about the worst thing that could happen. Oh well, guess I don't fit their customer profile anyway.Gavinnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8835710.post-42551072698237635772013-03-10T13:24:09.037-04:002013-03-10T13:24:09.037-04:00I'm sorry to see the upstairs gone. I fully understand that it's not lucrative to allow people to linger all day over a cup of coffee but I'll really miss the environment that Sova created to allow for that. It was nice to see people doing work, chatting with friends, etc. This place feels more like a Starbucks and the name is pretty awful. That's about where my preference ends.

For the most part, I didn't have SOVA. I never had an issue with the countertops and I prefer the old layout of SOVA to the new one of the H Street Coffeehouse. It felt bigger for starters. You're entitled to your opinion, but saying this is 10x better reduces your credibility, significantly.

I was there this morning. I didn't eat anything so I can't say how the food is.

The interior is a bit blander than it was before. The second floor is gone. The downstairs feels a lot smaller than before as well.
