Dangerously Delicious Pies Party Tonight

Dangerously Delicious Pies, located at 1339 H Street, will not open today as previously reported. The opening has been delayed just a bit (it will probably happen next week). It appears that they will still be having the opening party that kicks off a musical tour. Stop for the festivities between 8pm and 3am.

  1. I don't think so. Answering machine says they open the 19th. Website says they open "the week of the 14th". Am I missing something...has anyone been over to see if they're actually open?

  3. Well, I don't know about you all but I'll be swinging by the shop at 10 p.m. post Caps hockey game to check out the scene...been waiting a long time for Rodney and his crew to finally open their doors. Just in time for "Pi" day 3.14

  8. ^Anon. trolls again^...I hope people will ignore these idiots. They wouldn't be advertising a PARTY if they didn't want people to stop by tonight. So what if they need a couple extra days to do the full grand opening (gee, just like every other business around here).

Anon.-douches: Do yourselves a favor -- try to do something less douchy than posting disinformation on a neighborhood board.

  10. Dangerously Delicious announces the party on their main website (just not the DC one). To me that doesn't sound so private. They also had posters up at the H Street location advertising the event.

  11. This is a shame. I was hoping to stop by after dinner at Liberty Tree tomorrow to pick up a pie for a housewarming party. =(

  14. i stopped by today around 4 because i thought the opening date was official, but they said they weren't ready to open. said ``maybe next week.'' it looked very nice inside and there were quite a few people in there who i assume were employees. i didn't think to ask about the party. oh well. i'll try again next week

  15. •People show up for the soft opening, surprising the staff, and people are outraged at the disorganization and swear they’ll never visit again.

  17. I stopped by, and they were giving out free pies!! In exchange, they were videotaping people re-enacting that famous scene from American Pie.

In all seriousness, I can understand peoples' frustration with this place. They planned- and announced- a November 2009 opening date. It's now almost April 2010.

  18. tom a.,
it ain't always easy to open a place in DC. The space has been ready for a long time. I think they spent months waiting for inspections.

  21. DDP had a fabulous party on Friday night. All you doubters missed a great time. Next time we tell ya something, just go by and check it out!

Yeah, the DC inspectors showed up a few days late. Again. Try that on your job, right?
DDP will have their official CofO this week, but Geez, they had all that pie baked and Rodney was ready to rock and roll. Why not invited in a few hundred of your new best friends of H Street?

Terrific party. Dynamite tunes. Wonderful pie! I had Cowboy Quiche for supper and Pecan for dessert. What could be better?
DDP is a great addition to H Street.

  25. DDP HAS been ready and willing to throw those front doors open SINCE NOVEMBER!!!!!! We have tries and tried to work with the city and appease fellow neighbors and general pie fans as best we could. As a member of the DDP-DC family, all I can say is we're just regular folks tryin to give DC some damn fine pie and unfortunately dealing with DC has been an utter nightmare. I promise you no one would love to have our doors open more than us! Please don't lose faith and/ or patience. We do feel terrible for the delay. The pie party, where we invited all those who haven't lost faith and patience to free pie, booze, and music, and to those ...we are truly so appreciative. It's pie for the people by the people....please hang in there with us! We're SLOWLY but surely navigating through the web of red tape....In Pie We Crust!

Guys, please be polite. Remember that these people are your neighbors. I ask also that anonymous users leave some kind of tag [e.g. big green cat] for the sake of being able to follow a thread. Be respectful and have fun.
