Elevation DC: H Street Organic Market Opening Soon

Elevation DC has an update on the new organic market coming to 806 H Street. For starters' it has a new name: H Street Organic Market. The original name was Chez Hareg Organic Market, but the owners chose to change it because they are not yet ready to carry the pastries they make at their production site (formerly available at Chez Hareg). Look for an opening sometime this month.

    I gotta question the business logic granted WFM will be there in a couple years. Guess they could temporarily reap profits. Don't think they can coexist.

    They had this concept planned before the Whole Foods was announced. Oh well. I know Yes Organic backed out, citing historic property issues regarding the H Street Playhouse building, but they may have just smart enough to know of the impending doom that WFM would bring upon their sales.

    Either way, I'm excited for H Street Organic to open

    They will have a chance to establish a following seeing as the WF will not be open for 2+ years. Honestly, I am excited about the WF but if it's anything like the P St one it'll be a cluster. I'll be glad to have a smaller organic market to grab something quick and I'm glad they'll be carrying items from local suppliers.

    I hope that this store sells a lot of the stuff from Union Kitchen, and other local producers. If this store has stock similar to Glens at Dupont Circle, it will succeed, even after Whole Fields moves in.
