Man Dead After Crashing into Pole at 14th & H Street

A man died early this morning when his car (an Infiniti) plowed into a pole near the intersection of 14th and H Street before catching fire. A witness told WUSA9 that the driver was traveling at an extremely high rate of speed with his headlights turned off. After hitting the pole, the Infiniti also struck a truck. The driver of the truck sustained no injuries. This accident resulted in the closure of multiple blocks into the morning hours.
