I haven't seen any news on the condition of the victims in either event, but DC Alerts went out last night for two separate incidents on Bladensburg Road. An alert went out at 10:13 p.m. for a shooting in the 1700 block of Benning Road, and at 1:54 a.m. another alert went out for a stabbing at 9:35 p.m. in the 1000 block of Benning Road. No lookout provided in the shooting, but the alert for the stabbing included a lookout for a black male in his 30s wearing a red shirt. There was also a previous alert sent out yesterday afternoon (2:28 p.m.) for a stabbing at 3:15 a.m. in the 1900 block of M Street. That alert included a lookout for two black males.

What is the 1000 block of Benning Road?
ReplyDeleteYesterday (Tuesday) around noon, the plaza at the Starburst was entirely closed off with police tape. Not sure why.
According to various accounts on Twitter, I believe the police tape yesterday was actually so that a cleaning crew could come in and give the Starburst plaza a thorough cleaning. Because we like to make sure our open-air drug markets look as nice as possible!
