Police Action Locally

The Post includes this mention of a stabbing in the 1700 block of Benning Road. There seems to have been lots of action around here recently. Yesterday a portion of the 1300 blockk of Florida Ave was bloked off with police tape & multiple officers were seen at the scene. I also heard about what appeared to be a massive bust of some sort on Neal Street. A commentor to a previous post mentioned an incident at 12th & G Street. Anyone know of anything else, or have any details about these events? Is there a mini crime wave in the neighborhood, or are the police just more visible? Take a look at these recent Post pieces on the crime emergency:

According to my roommate, the corner of 12th & G was blocked off by police late Saturday evening. They made him walk around to the Md. Ave side of 12th to get to our Apt. he said he was not sure what had happened. Does anyone know?

Unfortunately on Sunday July 30th, at 0120 hours we had a homicide in the rear of 1705 Benning RD - an adult male was stabbed in the chest after an argument -- we are asking anyone with info to contact 727-9099

Also as we were on scene of the above, at 0230 hours we heard multiple rounds of gunfire near 12th/Maryland AVe NE and 12th and Florida NE -- we got in area and we ended up pursuing a green Toyota Camry and Blue Suburban that was shooting back and forth at each other. We were able to stop the Blue Suburban at Mt Olivet and Bladensburg and the green Toyota at 17th/Jackson ST NE -- we arrested six and recovered the gun -
