I would expect something a little..."tougher" for the Broad Street and something a little weirder for South Street. :-)

Looks pretty fuckin' dope. So now let's cue up Chris Metzler complaining about Taylor not having his precious guanciale and speck!

Pedantic correction:

"Soppresatta" should "soppressata", "sopressata" or "soppresata" but never anything with two t's.

Looks awesome otherwise...really awesome in fact.

Now that broccoli rabe has come to H Street, we are one step closer to arriving as a food destination...:)

Huge. What's the ETA on this place?

Looks amazing, and will be great for the area. I only wonder, if $9.00 12 inch subs is not a little high for this area. That is way more than the Italian Store, and Leteri's.

I wish them well, and I will be among the many who will be there early and often, I just wonder if the price is not a bit to high to make them competitive.

OMG!!! I Cannot wait! This place looks amazing! I stuck my head in and couldnt believe what I saw. Probably the best buildout I have seen in NE. Does not look like I thought. Blown away

I stopped by this afternoon and Casey told me that they should be open either on Wednesday or Thursday...YIPPEE>>>>I wish they had been open the other evening when a 9th St would have hit the spot. I will be there often let the line begin.

Yeah, they were out there working on the facade today and the "Taylor" sign is up.

No, instead let's cue up Chris Metzler commenting on assholes posting snotty comments without having the guts to attach their real names to them.

first the world series, now a philly-centric sandwich shop a few blocks from home?! What did I do to deserve all this good fortune?

on prices, a hoagie like this in philly from sarcones will cost you about $7, so I don't think the prices are too steep, considering they'll be trucking in rolls from sarcones every day (or every other day, they don't keep fresh very long).

i'm pumped!

They should be open sometime this week. I stopped by yesterday and saw the space. It's very nice, and larger than I imagined.

Pretty much says it all.

Can't wait for Taylor to open!!!

We cannot wait for this place to open. Menu is great. Anyone know if they will deliver their market and by the pound goods in addition to the menu?

"...anyone know if they will deliver their market and by the pound goods in addition to the menu?"

I'm curious -- unless you are in a wheelchair, agoraphobic, or the size of an orca, what is preventing you from waiting in line for cold cuts like anyone else?

Anonymous said...

Being the size on an orca, will I be able to sit down in there and eat my soppressata or is it carry out only?

They have some seating.

Does anyone know why it's called Taylor - looks redundent on the menu

Middle name of one of the proprietors...

Looks a little too fancy for my taste. I'm a Litteri's guy. The 4.95 Italian Sub there is a great deal. 6.90 is kind of a sticker shock.

However, Litteri's is not open on Sunday, so I'll manage to give this place a few tries.

I hope there is enough demand for both of them. Anybody know if they use Catania Bakery bread? That is key. None of this "soft sub roll" garbage. It's reshaped wonder bread

Can't...stop...eating...Taylor subs. Brett, they're not soft rolls. Crusty with sesame seens, with a softish center. I've been three times already.
