Now comes
notice of a new ABC license application for a restaurant at 1125 H Street. From the application:
New Restaurant with 58 seats inside, a sidewalk café with 40 seats and a total capacity of 98 on the basement and first floor.
For reference, we're talking about the space previously occupied by the check cashing location. I'm assuming this is Mongolian BBQ, but I don't know that for sure.

Sidewalk cafe with seating for 40? do you think this will be out front?
there is a lot of space along the side of that structure if it's at 12th and H where the old check cashing spot was.
XII is at 1123 H Street, so it is the old check cashing place.
It may be Indian/Pakistani. Although Pakistani BBQ kabob type places typically don't serve alcohol.
That's progress. H St could do with one less check cashing place.
H St is really cementing itself as a destination for dining and entertainment. And in the middle of a nasty recession.
Now if the prision Family Dollar could go...
Or the blight that is the H St. Storage Facility could go...
Blasphemy. I love that check cashing place!
How else am I supposed to pay for a weave at the cash-only wig stores?
Damn you, gentrifiers. Damn you!
Mongolian, Japanese, Jamaican, Ethiopian, German, Irish – Thank goodness for Liberty Tree and their Americana fare.
H street is the epcot of dining
Their request for these hours of alcohol service at a sidewalk cafe is delusional.
The existing establishments on H Street have limited hours for their controlled patios within their property.
The reason is that the responsible places are trying to work with the community to minimize any possible negative impact.
A larger question is why Khan didn't first go to the ANC before filing this application with ABRA.
Will they be serving barbequed raccoon and possum?
"Will they be serving barbequed raccoon and possum?"
Yes, and it will come from the new Whole Foods... erm... Giant on H St.
I though XII wanted to use that sidewalk for outdoor seating? Do they even sell food nowadays?
I wish the XII would go back to being a Cluck-You!
Google reports that there is another place by the same name in Chicago and one in MN. Both are mongolian BBQ places with good reviews.
It's not like Khan in an unusual name. Old Ghengis got around.
The owners of this are from VA.
Probably not associated with other random places of the same name. But who knows?
