I really hate when people who visit H Street for the first time in their lives to visit a well-known, great restaurant say, "...not in the best of neighborhoods.. an old, tired neighborhood." I'm much more comfortable here than in many other sections of Washington. This is my home. I'm proud of it, warts and all.
Eh, it's all relative. If u lived in Georgetown or Dupont you'd probably view H st. as not the best of neighborhoods too. It is what it is, no need to get your knickers twisted.
