Former H Street Biz Man in Gay Extortion Bust

0607101inside1
Chef Shawn Lightfoot

Chef Shawn Lightfoot, a former Managing Partner at Pap and Petey's (he was also involved with Liquid Lounge, and another attempted venture), has been arrested and faces serious charges that will almost certainly send him back to prison (he was previously sentenced to five years for pulling a similar scheme in 2003 in Virginia).

Basically, a married business man from Detroit was awakened by a phone call demanding $25,000 or the caller would send photos of the man engaged in sexual activity with another man to the victim's wife, and business associates. The victim returned to Detroit, consulted his wife, and contacted the FBI. The victim claimed to have no memory of any sexual activity, but said that he awoke feeling "woozy." They spoke with the extortionist, who then sent some photos to the man. The photos were sent from a cell phone belonging to Shawn Lightfoot. Lightfoot was later apprehended by the police while speaking to the victim on the phone. Read the full report at The Smoking Gun.

Glad that Chef LightLoafers isn't operating a "lounge" on H Street.

10:31,
Sorry, but it's relevant. Shawn Lightfoot was recently a Managing Partner at an H Street business. He was also (and according to his resume, currently is) involved in another business that has sought to open on H Street. I think it's relevant that he's involved in extortion schemes.

Thanks inked for posting. If SL is involved in another H Street business, then it's absolutely relevant. Sounds like SL drugged the victim (easy to slip something into someone's drink at the bar, hope this doesn't happen on H Street) and then took all these photos when they went back to the hotel room.

This made Drudge Report later today.
It would be interesting if somebody sees it and reports another extortion over the past few years - if they have evidence and the courage to contact the FBI. The reason these things succeed is that people are embarrassed to tell their wives or whatever.
