A Call for Proposals: Intersections 2011
The Atlas Performing Arts Center announces its second annual INTERSECTIONS: A New America Arts Festival celebrating the arts as a catalyst for conversation and connection among artists and audiences of all ages, races, cultures and art forms, February 25 – March 13, 2011. Through theater, dance, music, film, opera, visual art, and spoken word, INTERSECTIONS brings together diverse artists and audiences from throughout DC and beyond to break boundaries and create connections in our intimate performance spaces, festive lobby and cafĂ©. Visual and Performing Artists of all disciplines whose work innovatively explores an “intersection” of artistic and/or cultural forms, themes or content are invited to submit proposals for participation. We are especially interested in work that reflects the cultural and personal intersections of being a first generation or new American. A proposal form and more information (See “Latest News”) can be found at www.intersectionsdc.org. The deadline for submission is June 18, 2010. Questions: Contact Festival Artistic Director, Mary Hall Surface, at intersectionsdc@atlasarts.org. The Atlas is located at 1333 H Street NE, Washington, DC 20002.
