Fantastic. The Better Half and I were talking just last night about this parcel & wondering which grocery chain (obviously not HT or Safeway) would be moving in.

Speaking of HT: what's the projected open date for the one at 1st/M NE?

December 7th, NICE!! Just in time for the hoidays. Its very good for the neighborhood, in that it will bring jobs closer to the people over here.

I rather see a Trader Joes or Yes Organic go in this space. the HT would do well to serve the area. It would be good to have a different option in the area than HT's, Safeways, and Giants. My opinion.

Neither of which will fit in that space.

-buried parking (125 spaces);

Which will not nearly enough considering how saturated that neighborhood is with development (Senate Square, Landmark Lofts, Loree Grand, and the other empty parcels that are slated to be residential).

I am hoping (rather naïvely) that Giant will take advantage of the blank slate and build a business that fits the community's needs on matters other than price.

It would be nice to have a dedicated organic section, one that rivals the halfassed section at Safeway that is comprised of mainly "seconds" and unreasonably priced.

It would be nice to have an offering of prepared foods (including a salad bar), one that is not comprised of fried chicken, premade sandwiches, plastic-wrapped pizzas, and grocery store coleslaw/potato salad.

Has Giant put in other "lifestyle" stores?

to anon 11:48, why would folks from (Senate Square, Landmark Lofts, Loree Grand, and the other empty parcels that are slated to be residential) need to park at Giant?

Senate Square is literally spitting distance from the proposed Giant entrance.
