Isn't the Sierra Club opposed to the over head wires plan?

The Sierra Club does not oppose overhead streetcar wires. In fact, we support them because it's the only feasible way to power streetcars in D.C. in the near term. New technological alternatives are emerging, but they are proprietary (i.e., more expensive), untested, and/or not particularly suited for D.C.'s climate.
