Any of us who have lived around here for any prolonged period of time have noticed the baby boom in our area. I've seen it here in Trinidad, over in Rosedale, down in Near Northeast, & (obviously) in the larger Capitol Hill north area.

Multiple readers have written in asking me to let readers know about the upcoming MOTH (Moms On The Hill event. Details appear below:
Annual community event includes face painters, live music, and raffle

The Moms On The Hill (MOTH) Family Fest will be held Sunday, September 14th, in Garfield Park at 3rd & G Streets SE, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The event is sponsored by CSX, Au Pair in America, Lee Murphy, Washington Fine Properties, Meg Shapiro & George Olson RE/MAX Allegiance, National Capital Bank, AtlasVet, COVE, fibre space, John C. Formant Real Estate, Polar Bear Air Conditioning, Traditions Contracting, and South Capitol Smile. (Full list of sponsors and contributions follows this release).

Hill families are invited to join in this annual celebration and enjoy food, games, and other child-friendly activities. Entertainment will include moonbounces, balloon animals, face painting, Turley the Magician, a performance from Tippi Toes, and live music from Mr. Skip, Meadowlark, and Most Wanted. Additional activities for families will be provided by Little Loft, fibre space, Relay Foods, Labyrinth Game Shop, the National Postal Museum, Breathing Space Yoga, and Vida Fitness. A limited supply of food will be provided by local vendors; families are welcome to bring picnics.

The event will also feature a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses, including Metro Mutts, Hill Rag, and Boogie Babes. T-shirts in adult and child sizes will also be for sale. A portion of all event proceeds will go towards the purchase of uniforms for DCPS students through the Homeless Children's Playtime Project.

MOTH Family Fest will take place rain or shine. Admission is free. Additional on the FaceBook.

Sounds awesome. They should add a stroller race. Ha.

What about the southern boundary?

Anonymous said...

What is near northeast compared to north capital hill?

Anonymous said...

Yes I have noticed a rise in screaming, unwatched children at restaurants and coffee shops now that you mention it.

Title says Saturday - but it looks like this is Sunday the 14th.

It is Sunday. Sorry about that.

Does DOTH exist, or does MOTH accept dads into their group?

When you had to put up with Phish Tea as the only sit-down place on Hst, you get to bring your kids anywhere.
