Ivy City Smokehouse has a great seafood selection AND friendly staff to guide you

Scena Theatre brings Orson Welles' classic War of the Worlds to the Atlas Performing Arts Center (1333 H Street) starting with previews this Thursday and Friday. The show runs through May 28th. Tickets $20-40, or $10 on preview nights.

Capital Fringe (1358 Florida Avenue) seeks volunteers with a little room in their hearts and homes to host an artist during this summer's Capital Fringe Festival (July). Performers come from all over the country (some even from outside the country) and hotels in the District can be a tad steep. Hosts get more than a warm fuzzy feeling, they also get free passes to see Festival shows.

If you haven't visited Ivy City Smokehouse (1356 Okie Street) recently, or if you've never been, this is a perfect time to go. The market boasts an impressive selection of seafood, including live oysters and a variety of whole or filleted fish. You can't go wrong with any of the smoked salmon, and the whitefish salad is just awesome. You can even get squid ink there. The Smokehouse team posted on Facebook this morning that they'll have have "Hard Crabs, Soft Crabs, and Crab Meat available all week."

Atlas Vet (1326 H Street) is looking to hire a veterinary assistant.
