Maketto will hold a Holiday Cafe Sessions Open Mic tonight

The Washington Business Journal brings news that Blue Bottle Coffee will open a location at Fourth and Morse in the Florida Avenue Market. According to the article the space will be about 5,000 square feet. Sounds like a great place to hangout before making a run to nearby Union Market (1309 Fifth St.). Blue Bottle currently has cafes in and around San Francisco, New York City, Los Angeles, and Tokyo. The article says Blue Bottle will also open locations in Georgetown, and the Southwest Waterfront.

Maketto (1359 H St.) will hold a Cafe Sessions Holiday Open Mic Night tonight starting at 7:30 p.m. (sign-up starts at 6:30 p.m.). All performers will get 20 minutes sets. The focus is on singers and songwriters. All genres are welcome, as are covers. Stop by and try a cup of Maketto eggnog.

The Ward 5 Annual Holiday Party is tonight. It's free, and open to all. Stop by Union Market's Dock5 (1309 Fifth St.) from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. to join the fun. Don't forget to bring a new and unwrapped toy for the annual holiday toy drive.
