Local Briefing: Krampusnacht Raised Nearly $4k, an Ugly Holiday Sweater Run, & a New Soccer Bar
Krampusnacht DC reports that their 2016 event raised $3,984 for Santa's Cause DC, a project of Family Matters of Greater Washington to benefit District foster kids.
Three great neighborhood running clubs -- H Street Runners, Argonaut Running Club ("Argo Run Club"), and Big Board Runners -- are coming together for the inaugural "Ugly Holiday Sweater Run & Holiday Bash" this Tuesday, Dec. 20. They invite you to join them in your most tacky, festive sweaters or attire at 7:00 p.m. at Driftwood Kitchen (400 H St.) for a holiday fun run up and down H Street (a distance of less than 2 miles). Afterwards they'll gather at Driftwood Kitchen in the beautiful upstairs bar for an extended happy hour with plenty of great food and drink specials.
And because this is the season of love and giving, please consider bringing a race medal or two as a donation to Medals 4 Angels, a nonprofit founded by Boston Marathoners, which gives race medals to children struggling with serious illness or disease.
Medals from all races (any distance) will be accepted and will be presented to very deserving kids who will really love them. So consider donating a race race medal (or as many of you can!) to help support and encourage some kids who really need it. The organizers will have a medal collection at the start of the run, and more information will about the Medals 4 Angels program will be available at the post-race bash. Bring your friends and neighbors!
The run starts at 7:00 p.m.
Happy hour begins around 7:30 p.m.
Area soccer fans can head up to Ivy City's Dock FC (1400 Okie St.) starting today at 11 a.m. The news comes via the Twitter account @Eat_DC and includes a copy of the opening menu.

Dock FCs website is down:( Their Facebook page is here.
URGENT. Also on December 20, ANC Commissioner Kathy Henderson and DC's non-voting Congresswoman, Elanor Norton Holmes will be having a meeting to stop Trump from becoming President after having lost the popular vote. It might seem a little late as the Electoral College vote will occur on December 19th but I'm sure these two women have a plan that will put Hillary in the Whitehouse on January 20th 2017.
The meeting will convene on 12-20-16, from 6-8 p.m. at the Two Rivers Public Charter School (next to Browne and Spingarn on 26th Street NE).
Don't let us down Commissioner Henderson and Congresswoman Holmes.
Is Argonaut Running club still a thing, being that the place was shut down permanently?
11:22,
My understanding is the runners have continued to meet for runs, and to have beers, but they are now doing it at Liberty Tree.
commissioner henderson has failed us yet again as trump is now officially president, with 270+ electoral votes. Shame on you commissioner henderson for failing to save this country from ruin. For shame!
