I was walking on Florida recently when I noticed a sign for an apartment building (18 units) called The Eleanor. The sign features a likeness of Eleanor Roosevelt. Although I've seen many buildings with names like The Washington, or The Lincoln, I don't think I have ever come across a building named for Eleanor Roosevelt. A very unusual choice I think. Anyway, here are some photos:
And ready for her close-up.
I had no luck reaching their website, but perhaps you will be more fortunate. At any rate, I have no doubt this would be an ideal location for entertaining visiting dignitaries and favored reporters alike.
It looks like they still have their domain, so the website problem may be on my end. Here is more info on the developer Evolve LLC. I did not know this was the same team that brought us the Pierce School Lofts.

It's good ER gets a building named after her. I guess there can only be so many Ellingtons, Kennedys and Langstons.
Where on Florida is this place?
I'm glad it got that name. I am just also very surprised. But you are right about the repetition of names. And frankly, The West Virginian just doesn't have the same ring to it.
Actually The Eleanor is not on Florida. It is located just off Florida on West Virginia Avenue (1101 West Virginia Avenue). But I think that would place it around 9th, or 10th, & Florida.
